Frances Suzanne Donnelly

A longtime resident of Union, Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Donnelly Sr, her parents, Carl and Goldy Stampfl, her daughter, Barbara Carol Donnelly and her son, Robert John Donnelly Jr. Fran is survived by her daughter, Debbi Kosakowski, son-in- law, John Stephen Kosakowski, brother, Carl Stampfl, sister in-law Carol Stampfl, 4 grandchildren, Robert John Donnelly III (wife Tara), Kara Cunningham (husband Andrew), Megan Heaton (husband Scott), Casey Donnelly and 6 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Tyler Heaton, and Aedan, Cavan and Maeve Donnelly.

Fran was employed for many years by Eastern Airlines, which allowed her to take her family on many memorable vacations. She subsequently worked for the County of Union in the Public Safety Dept. until her retirement in 2010.

Fran’s main focus in life was being the best mother and grandmother she could be. Fran gave 100% to that endeavor while still finding time for others. Fran loved to travel the world and was always planning her next trip.

Fran was active in Holy Spirit Church, civic organizations, and social clubs. Fran served as president of the Rosary Society and vice-president of both the Newark Archdiocese Council of Catholic Women and Catholic Daughters of America. As president of the Union Garden Club, member of the Irish American club and active member of the Democratic Club of Union, Fran always had time for us all as Mom.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 31, 2026 at Holy Spirit Church, 984 Suburban Rd, Union, NJ 07083 at 10 am followed by a service at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083.
