Gerda Schneider

It is with deep sadness we announce the loss of our dear mom and Oma, Gerda Schneider. She passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 96, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1956. She met her husband, the late Daniel H. Schneider, and built a life together in Springfield, New Jersey. Gerda was a devoted mother to her son Rene’ Schneider and daughter, Cindy (Robert) Goodman. She deeply loved her grandchildren Ashley Schneider, Nicole and Derek Goodman, and step-granddaughters Kathy Goodman and Laura (Mike) Mills, as well as adored her numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her husband and her two younger siblings.

Her life was marked by kindness and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Avene, Union, NJ 07083 on Sunday, February 15, 2026, for visitation from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
