

He was born on June 5, 1940 of Newark, New Jersey.
He had a strong love for family, his Italian heritage, the 50s, his pets, crossword puzzles, gardening and working with his hands.
Jim was a member of Labor Local 342 of Newark for many years and head custodian at Union Board of Education until his retirement in 2005. He was a dedicated member of the Sons of Italy and supported the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart.
He was predeceased by his parents the late Rose and Leonard DiCataldo and well as his brother Robert.
James is survived by his wife Georgiann of 40 years, as well as his children: daughter Michelle and husband Anthony, sons Thomas and fiance Neidy, Benjamin and wife Jessica, grandchildren Brianna, Barbara, Benjamin Jr., and Corinne, and great grandchildren - Laila and Mila.
Jim also leaves behind many relatives - his brother Anthony and wife Irene, sister Mary, amongst many cherished nephews and nieces.
A visitation for James will be held Monday, December 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:15 AM at Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Road, Union, NJ 07083.
