

John loved going to the casinos, the Meadowlands Racetrack, and had a passion for bowling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his two granddaughters who were everything to him. John was a United States Postal Worker for over twenty years at the Millburn Post Office. He was a mail carrier by day and a limousine driver by night. He was a dedicated family man who did everything he could to make sure that he and his family always had everything they needed. John always put everyone else first and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever anyone needed it. John will be missed. His personality and his go get ‘em attitude will never be forgotten.
John is predeceased by his parents, John Michael and Helen (Hrenko) Wachter, and his father in law and mother in law Joseph John and Elisa (Gasdia) Albanese.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, children Christine and her fiancé Khalid, Anthony, Nicholas and Michael and granddaughters Briella and Ariana. He also leaves behind his sister Maryann and brother in law Michael Heckman, and nephews Carl, Christopher and Andrew. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Bella.
Friends and family are invited to visit McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave. Union, NJ on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 4-8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Broad Street, Hillside, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s honor to Autism Speaks.
