

Lawrence E. Horner, 61, of Union, N.J., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011. The family will receive their relatives and friends at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J., on Tuesday, Nov. 15 (today), from 5 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Holy Spirit Church, Union, N.J., on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m. A committal service will be private, and held at a later date. Larry was born in Newark, N.J., to the late JoHanna and Lawrence E. Horner. He was raised in Hillside, N.J., and enjoyed his childhood there, surrounded by his entire family. After high school, Larry was employed with PSE&G for 32 years, and in his free time, he loved riding his Harley motorcycle. His passion was exploring his Italian heritage, teaching himself the Italian language, and discovering his roots in the city of Rome, Italy. Larry traveled to Italy with his wife, Licia, and enjoyed driving through the streets there. Larry lived with extraordinary dignity. He cared deeply for his family, friends, and co-workers. Larry lived an ethical life of loyalty, honesty, integrity, and respect. His unmistakable humor brought joy to everyone he encountered. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was the beloved husband of 36 loving years to Licia M. Horner; loving father of Lawrence E. Horner and his wife, Sarra, and Matthew L. Horner and his wife, Anna, and dear brother of Judy Murray, and Elaine Vogel. Larry is also survived by his cherished granddaughters, Alexxis, and Layla; his loving aunt, Vera Feldman; his dear nephews, cousins, and his PSE&G co-workers, that truly loved and respected him.
