Maria L. Castagna

Maria was born in Manhattan, NY and resided in Newark, before settling in Hillside where she lived for 38 years. She was employed as a machinist for Yale Hook and Eye Company for many years. She was also a member of the Rosarian Society and the Tuesday Club at Christ the King Church, Hillside. Maria will be remembered for her love of reading.

She is predeceased by her parents, four brothers, and 1 sister. Dearest aunt of Vinnie and her husband Tony, Anna Marie and her husband Carmine. She also leaves behind her loving dog Cuddles. Maria is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great &great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Monday, August 4th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union NJ 07083. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, August 5th at Christ the King Church, Hillside at 9:30 AM with interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Maria’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
