Maxwell Adams

Maxwell was born December 21, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey.

Max as he was most affectionately know was born and raised in Newark and educated in the Newark public school system. Once Max became of age he enlisted in the Army Air Corp during WWII. During his time of service Max earned and was awarded three Bronze stars. Along with completing Heavy Automotive equipment operator training Max served as a Military police officer. Max was very proud of his service and the discipline and knowledge that he gained as an MP in the Army Air Corp gave him the foundation for him to become a Newark Police Officer. Max valiantly served on the Newark Police force for over 25 years. During this time he met and married the love of his life Mildred, together they had three beloved sons, Anthony, Richard and James.

Though Max was a dedicated police officer he always made time for his family. He made it a tradition to meet and spend time with them every Sunday. Max wasn't the best cook but he definitely enjoyed a meal, especially one made by his dear wife Mildred. They were married 72 years before her passing in 2020.

In his spare time Max loved working on cars and fixing things around the house. When he became a grandpa he would always be there to support his grandchildren by attending their practices and games.

Max was a proud service member, dear husband, dedicated father, and cherished grandfather.

He will be missed by hall who knew him.

Max was predeceased by his wife of 72 years Mildred. Son Anthony, and his Brothers George Adams and Mitchell Abraham.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his Sons Richard and James (Robin), Grandchildren Richard, Michael, Olivia, Jamie and Toni.

A visitation for Maxwell will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.

A graveside service will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Hollywood Cemetery, 1621 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ 07083.
