With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Rosa Tuesta. A devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished sister and aunt, and loyal friend. Rosa left this world peacefully on May 15, 2025, surrounded by love, at the age of 69.
Rosa was born on September 7, 1955, in Peru, to her loving mother, also named Rosa. From the very beginning, she carried a strength and warmth that would shape the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. After spending a short time in Venezuela, Rosa made her way to the United States. First to New York, and then to New Jersey, where she built a beautiful life rooted in love, hard work, and family.
She spent more than 30 years working at Newark Airport, and to her, it was so much more than a job. It was a second home. Rosa truly loved her work, and even more so, she loved the people she worked with. Her coworkers weren’t just colleagues, they were lifelong friends. And she treated each one with genuine care and respect.
Rosa had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, cared for, and loved. She was thoughtful beyond measure, always putting her family and loved ones first. She was also incredibly funny, quick-witted, playful, and never afraid to make others laugh. Her laughter and personality were contagious, and she had a gift for brightening any room she walked into.
She is survived by her daughter, Gina Santiago, and her son-in-law, Felix Santiago; her son, Ernesto Tuesta; and her loving grandchildren, Ghaida, George, Josephine, and Jacob. Her heart grew even bigger with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Zelda and Jhett. She was a deeply loved sister to her brother Gustavo and his wife Norma, and a special aunt whose love extended to her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
Rosa’s legacy is one of love, laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family. She leaves behind a family that will carry her memory in every embrace, every shared smile, and every act of generosity.
She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
A visitation for Rosa will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
