Ruth M DiMenno

Ruth M. DiMenno, age 98, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 4, 2018. A visitation will be held at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue Union, NJ, on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 3-7 PM during which an Eastern Star Service will be held at 4:00 PM and a funeral service at 6:30 PM. Ruth was a cashier with Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, before her retirement. Ruth was a long time member of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron and Grand Officer. She was currently a member of Eastern Star Chapter Gloria #159 of Beachwood, NJ, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville, NJ. Ruth graduated from Irvington High School and was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Henry Benke, and husband of 38 years, Constantine “Connie” DiMenno, and brother Roy Schmidt. She is survived by her daughters Judith McCarthy, Barbara Siegert, Nancy & her husband George Fields, Connie & her husband Dr. Joseph DeFazio, Barbara-Jean & her husband Mark Kennedy. She also leaves behind grandchildren Gregory and Glenn Reinhardt, Bryan Siegert, Michael & wife Danielle Fields, Melissa and Peter Fields, Maria & her husband Brad Chiappetta, Marc Joseph DeFazio, Scott & his wife Dina DiMenno and Charles & his wife Laurie DiMenno. Ruth is also survived by ten great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NJ Eastern Star home, 111 Finderne Ave, Bridgewater, NJ 08807, or the American Diabetes Association.
