October 2, 1961 – April 25, 2025
With broken hearts, we share the passing of our dearest beloved Teresa 'Tata' Acapulco Remollo, who departed this life and joined our Heavenly Father at the age of 63 on April 25, 2025 in Livingston, NJ.
She was born in Ozamis City, Philippines, the first of 11 children, and made history while staying there for the first 16 years of her life. She was successful in each endeavor she strived to do and was proudly known as one of the most beautiful Ozamis natives to ever live. She was a literal pageant queen - she held so many titles and was a multi-awarded student for her talents in singing, dancing, oratory, and her academic excellence. After earning her BSN degree from Silliman University in Dumaguete City, she then lived in Manila, Philippines to work her first job as a CCU Nurse at Makati Medical Center for the next 4 years. After that incredible journey, Tata immigrated to New Jersey and made it her home for almost four decades.
In New Jersey, Tata became a dedicated and renowned CCU Nurse at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. She gave 34 years of care, comfort, leadership and strength to anyone regardless of whether they needed it or not. She was the most generous person known by her family and friends and was popularly known as the kindest person by everyone who met her.
In retirement, to Tata’s surprise, after her many talents, she discovered that she was also brilliant at cooking, and doing so became such a joyous part of her life. She also was an avid fan of YouTube and enjoyed watching her favorite vloggers. She was notorious for her love of interior design, flowers, fashion and beauty. She was humorous, giving, caring, and the heart of her home. Her legacy of love and serene resilience will remain with all who have known her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Antonio Angel Demosthenes Johnson Remollo; her daughters, Ate Nicole and her baby Francesca; and her nine siblings and extended family. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Restituto and Fe Acapulco, and her younger sister, Prima Regina “Gina” Acapulco Anga.
