

William was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Union for over 40 years. William was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII. He served on the USS Indiana BB-58 as a Radarman, experienced many major sea battles in the South Pacific including Marshall Islands, Iwo Jima, invasion of Okinowa and others. He was also awarded the Distinguished Service Medal.
After the war, William was employed by American Can Co. in Hillside, NJ and retired after 25 years. He was an avid dog lover and New York Yankees fan.
Beloved husband of over 41 years to the love of his life Josephine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 12th from 8:30-9:30 AM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union NJ 07083. A mass will follow at 10 AM at St. Genevieve’s Church, 200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth NJ 07208. Entombment will take place at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street New York, NY 10016.
