

Dan was born in Waurika, Oklahoma on July 24, 1952 to Warren and Dolores Peelman, who both proceed him in death. Dan grew up in Merced, CA with his siblings, David (proceeded in death), Linda, Jeff and Gary. He joined the United States Army at the age of 18. Dan married the mother of his two sons, Matthew and Nicholas, and later moved his family to California in 1978 to join the Los Angeles Police Department. Dan proudly protected and served as a Police Officer with the LAPD for nearly 20 years and retired as a Sergeant in 1994. Dan obtained his master’s degree from the University of Southern California and his Law Degree from the University of La Verne.
After retiring from the LAPD, Dan opened The Law Offices of Dan Peelman and practiced law for the past 28 years. He announced his retirement and closed the doors to his law firm in 2021. While Dan’s work ethic and accomplishments are commendable and admirable, his legacy will be rooted in his generous nature. Dan freely gave his love, time, expertise, and resources to those who needed it.
Dan married the love of his life, Bonnie, in 2016. When he wasn’t on the golf course, Dan and Bonnie could be found traveling in their RV, camping, off-roading in the desert with family and friends, vacationing in Australia, Mexico, and all over the United States, and enjoying life together.
Dan is survived by: Bonnie Peelman – Wife, Matthew Peelman – Son, Nicholas (Jennifer) Peelman – Son, Linda (Joel) Vizmanos – Sister, Jeff Peelman – Brother, Gary Peelman – Brother, Cherise (Jason) Olivieri – Stepdaughter, Christy (Kevin) Swiney – Stepdaughter, Chad Barnes – Stepson. Grandchildren – Breanna, Brayden, and Ella Peelman, Colt and Luke Olivieri, Kody Swiney, Michael and Jacob Barnes. Many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held on January 5, 2022 at 1:00pm at Stone Funeral Home located at 355 E. 9th Street, Upland, CA 91786
