Beyond being a kind friend, Dave was an exceptionally generous teacher. He readily mentored me as I began my career, offering his extensive expertise in construction and safety. His ability to distill complex information into clear, concise explanations was remarkable, and his dedication to helping others was consistently apparent. I will greatly miss Dave and the many wonderful stories he shared.

We made so many great childhood memories as same-age cousins & neighbors playing "cops & robbers" & "cowboys & indians" in their yard & ours. Later in high school after I got an old Vespa scooter, David often rode with me to early morning seminary. He was always smiling & joyful, commenting of funny things he observed in the world arund us at school, scouts, sports games, red-rover, bike riding, etc...!     Sure love you David!!!

John and I will miss our friend. We will miss his sense of humor. We will miss his patriotism. We will miss everything about Dave. David adored his wife, Adi, and loved his family. The world is a poor place without him.

Dave is my second oldest brother, born about seven years before I was.  Back in the day, Dave was a medic in a National Guard unit and a green beret.  His military service didn’t necessarily define who he is, but it certainly fits with his inherent alignment with “good” and serving others.
Dave had a thing for 1972 Chevy 4x4 shorted trucks.  He’s had several trucks over the years.  One was stolen.  He bought yet another one and has been slowly fixing it up.  It became more of a project than he could manage himself.  So, he decided to bring it up from California to a shop here in Utah to get it finished.
That was about a year ago.  He needed some help getting it here.  So, we got together for a road trip.  The summer heat was raging in the desert.  There was no A/C.  We rolled down the windows and let the wind blow in our hair.  The truck held together, but barely.
We talked and and reminisced about all the trivial things that came to mind from childhood.  None of them important, and yet all of them are.  It was a miserable drive, and yet it wasn’t.
Dave needed my help hecause he was fighting cancer.  That green beret was still in the fight, but struggling.
Dave lost that fight.  He fought with so much grace, and dignity, and honor.
I’ve seen this day coming for some time now.  I’ve thought many times about my relationship with Dave.  Always ahead of me and an example, I honestly cannot remember a single instance in which he was angry with me.  Nor do I remember ever being upset with him.  It’s not that I earned that grace from him, it’s the just the kind of brother he was to me.
When something important would happen, I would often call Dave and talk about things.  That can’t happen today.  So, I’m writing it out.

One day, he and I will ride the desert together again.

My name is Kim and I was Dave’s Barber for a few years. I had the pleasure of having him as my client. I was really saddened to hear the news that he passed our forever remember him because he gave me a pair of his cowboy boots, which I love so very much and I will cherish them even more now.. rest in peace, Dave.

Dave was an amazing friend and great Leader. I've learned so much from Dave about Construction Safety. He always went the extra mile to teach and help so many people. I truly Miss My Friend!!!!!

David was not only a friend he became my brother.
David was a national leader in safety. The number of people that he has mentored will have an impact on the construction industry for many years to come. His unwavering dedication to keeping workers safe will be dearly missed. But most of all he will be missed because of his Love for the people around him. His dedication to his family, his country, and his workers are his legacy.
We’ll miss ya Dave, but we’ll never forget you!

I worked with  Dave for two years and in that time he became on of my best friend.  A fighter but in a battle with the odds stacked heavily  against him.  I will always cherish the memories of the fun we had with Dave and Adi over the years!  Rest in peace my friend
