

Floyd passed away quietly on June 15, 2016 at his home in Upland, CA. He was 87 years old and a resident of Upland for 52 years. Born April 26, 1929, in Escalante, UT, he loved music, bird hunting, fishing, building and flying model airplanes, and having his family around him.
He is a veteran of the Korean War, and served as part of the Utah National Guard. He earned a music degree from the University of Utah, and taught music for several years.
He graduated from dental school in 1963, and quickly became “everybody’s favorite dentist”, as he supported his family until he retired. In his later years, he played the saxophone in a dance band that performed regularly once a month.
Floyd was fond of outdoor sporting activities, including camping, and riding ATVs. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many music and leadership positions in the church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marian. He is survived by his son, Paul of Sebastopol CA, daughter Kristy Crest (Steve) of Upland CA, son Kerry (Karen) of Plano TX, daughter Dianne Knight (Lyle) of Riverton UT, daughter Shauna of Laguna Hills CA, and ‘adopted-daughter’ Nice Barcelos also of Laguna Hills CA; two brothers, Hubert of St. George UT, and Austin of Preston ID; four grandchildren, Elise, Daniel, Shannon Munson and Annie (Zach) Blaylock, seven step-grandchildren, Melissa, Peter, David (Dianna), and Evan (Lauren) Crest; Cameron (Abi), Coleton, and Jenessa Knight; two great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, June 22 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Stone Funeral Home, 355 East 9th St., Upland, CA.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 23. at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 785 N. San Antonio Ave, Upland, CA.
Floyd will be buried alongside his loving wife, Marian, in Cedar City, UT, on Friday, June 24, 2016.
