Dearest Larry,
     Time will never dim my wonderful memories of our years together!  We shared so many happy experiences and quiet moments of reflection and caring. 
     You were such a good man, very disciplined and organized.  Dedicated and passionate about your involvement with wild land fire fighting efforts, you worked hard to contribute to the effort for over sixty-four years.
     World travels were exciting for you, particularly because of your interest and knowledge of history.  Any spare minute would find a book in your hand as you were an avid reader.  
A man of integrity, kindness, honor, patience, and resourcefulness, your twinkling blue eyes and gentle smile were reassuring and welcoming.
     You loved life and spoke often of your lifetime memories in Ohio and St. Louis.  Your family was very important to you as were relatives and friends, in your neighborhood and around the world.  California became your long time home for forty-six years and we welcomed you!
      Thank you for your trust, encouragement, advice, and thoughtfulness through our years as a committed couple.
I am the fortunate one to have enjoyed your companionship and time for so many years.  Thank you for being my rock, my inspiration, and my love!
      You will always be close by; my heart remembers, misses you and will always love you!

Now that the services are over and you are back with the family, I wanted to write you a thank you note.  
I wanted to thank you for always being there for me and my family.  You were there to celebrate the good times and stood strong next to us during the bad.  I'll miss your advice, strength, experience, and guidance.
Thank you for always making time to come for weekend dinners, the scotches by the fire pit, and all the time you invested in the family.  I'll miss the time you spent with the kids to watch their games, appreciate their art work, or listen to their stories.  
Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and love.  I am so proud that you stood with me at my wedding as my best man, one selection that I definitely got right.
I still find it hard not to pick up the phone and catch you up on the happenings of the day.  I miss you more than you can imagine.

My condolences to the family, we only met briefly and I have never stopped thinking about Mr. Vandersall or his wonderful family. I would like to think that our paths crossed for a purpose.  I pray that Gods embrace will comfort you through this difficult times. 

Grandpa there are so many good memories I have of us but one of my favorites is two summers ago when you took Justin, my mom, and myself to the Ronald Regan museum. You were so happy we went. It was really nice getting to just walk with you and hear about your memories about that time. I love you and miss our conversations. You showed me how truly important family and hard work is. Rest In Peace. It’s not goodbye it’s until we meet again. 

Grandpa, 
     I will never forget all of the summers we spent together for your birthday. All the barbecues we had and all the family time spent with everyone playing corn hole in the backyard. I will never forget all the times you and I talked and the advice that you gave me. I’ll always remember calling you when something new was going on and then we ended up talking on the phone for an hour. You were a great, hard working, loving and caring person and you will be greatly missed. I love you grandpa. Rest easy. Not goodbye, just until  we meet again 

Ill never forget all the summer barbecues, and all the parties we had for your birthday, and all the talks we had. Ill never forget all the times I called you to tell you when something new was happening and then we would end up spending an hour on the phone, and of course ill never forget all the pieces of advice you have given me throughout the years. You're an amazing person grandpa and you will be truly missed. I love  you grandpa. Not goodbye, just until we meet again  

Good man. Kind, generous, witty, and smart. Most importantly, he made my mother very happy. Thanks for all the years Lar-Bear! We will miss you!! ❤️

Larry was a kind man. Well spoken, and thoughtful in his words. He loved his family... and loved to watch his Grandson, Tristan, play baseball. For many years Larry was a fixture at many a baseball games. As a result, our family became well acquainted with Larry. We enjoyed several family dinners and many great conversations.  Our entire family send the Vandersall family and Joy so much love in this time. Larry will truly be greatly missed. 

Papa HL was always warm and kind to me. We shared a lot of great talks, glasses of wine, and fun times together. He taught me a lot about hard work, resiliency, and doing what you love most. I will miss all the years of  BBQs and warm summer nights on the patio with all of our family. You meant the world to me and can’t believe you are gone. Love you lots 💕

Larry Vandersall was a kind and loving grandfather to all of Matthew and my children.  He was at every birthday, every baseball game, and every gathering we had!  His sense of humor always made us laugh and his intellect taught us all so much.  We will miss you HL, you will be in our hearts forever!!!

Sorry for your loss Larry was my dads boss at Monsanto for many years (Richard camacho) he was not only a good boss but a good man I would see him at the barber shop in San Dimas and always tell me memories of him and my dad... RIP Larry 

I am so sorry for the loss of dear Larry.  He was the first neighbor we met 21 years ago and was one of the nicest people I have ever known.  Praying for you Joy, and all of Larry's kids and grandchildren.  He loved talking about all of you.  The neighborhood will not be the same,  he will be missed.
