Hard work, God, family and country were a way of life. He worked not only the family farm but his grandparents’ farm. At 20 he enlisted in the Air Force and found a career and a great love of military aircraft. He became one of the youngest master sergeants. After the Air Force, he worked for Lockheed Aircraft on military aircraft at Luke AFB, AZ and Ontario, CA until retiring in 1997. Joe was tough, strong and believed in doing a good job. He could have an intimidating presence but a soft heart and was always ready to help anyone who asked. He was also very active in projects at home and at the churches he attended. He loved anything fast. Car racing and military aircraft shows were his favorites.
That he loved his family was evident - his wife of 55 years, Mary, daughter, Cindy, son-in-law, Sean, and son, Ralph. His parents, brothers, sisters and their spouses preceded him in death.
