Louis served this country in the Navy during the Korean war on the USS Hornet. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad in the piggyback yard for 35 years and served as a steward for the teamsters proudly.

Louie and his late wife Bobbie Jane Turner Vasquez shared three children. The deceased Dean Miron Nicholas, who he is being laid to rest next to today. A daughter Carmen Weir and her children, Nichole, Lindsay and Andrew. His son, who honored his father, Louie Octavio Vasquez Jr. catered to his every want, loved and cared of him to the very end. He had seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Louie leaves behind one brother Antonio Vazquez. He was a favorite uncle to many, and loved by a very large family. Louie lived with his son Louie Jr. & Leticia Pimentel Vasquez his daughter in law, his grandson James and his sweetheart Mary Gorman. In the end at his bedside granddaughters Alexis, Leelina, Leondra and great granddaughter Love Ena, his brother Tony & Ana and their children Teresa, Marty, Tony Jr.
