Oscar Isauro Meza was born on March 13, 1942, in Durango, Mexico. Surrounded by his family, he was called home on August 19, 2025. He lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work after coming to California, the place he called home, in 1953.
Oscar attended Upland High School and later built a legacy as a dedicated and hardworking man. He began his career in mobile home manufacturing and went on to establish his own business, Meza Construction. A true craftsman, he built his family home from the ground up in Rancho Cucamonga. His green thumb and vast knowledge of horticulture were admired by many, and he found joy in tending to plants as well as sharing his wisdom.
He was a beloved husband to his wife of 65 years, JoAnne Meza, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Together they raised three children: John (Doreen) Meza, Mark Meza, and Monalisa (Danny) Salazar. Oscar was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren—Joseph, Adrianna, Anthony (Hayden), Joshua, Gianna, and Ava—and a great-grandfather to two, Jaxon and Kaleb.
Oscar cherished time with family and friends, especially his brothers Nemesio Meza and Fred Acuna. He was a man who found joy in life’s celebrations—singing along to Vicente Fernandez, showing off his footwork on the dance floor, and admiring the beauty of classic cars. His laughter, warmth, and presence brightened every gathering.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nelly Meza Acuna, his brothers Jaime (TJ) Meza and Richard “Tony” Meza Acuna, and his sisters Martha Cruz and Mirna Prieto.
Oscar’s legacy will continue through the family he loved so deeply and the lasting handiwork he leaves behind for others to enjoy. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who lived a life full of love, hard work, and joy.
