Terry was born in 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. In High School, Terry was a standout athlete, and he also excelled in art. Terry proudly served in the US Army 25th Infantry Division and was stationed in Oahu at Schofield Barracks during the Vietnam War and then was deployed to Laos. However, he was discharged before the main war started. He came back home and married the love of his life, Kathryn Marsala, in 1968. They started a family when they had twins Phil and Karla in 1972 and lived in Elmwood Park, Illinois. Terry then moved his family to the warmer climate of Southern California in 1978, where he settled until his death.
Terry enjoyed his home and yard where he spent his time landscaping and gardening the yard and entertaining with family gatherings. He loved sports, particularly baseball and football, and stayed true to the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Italian meals, Chicago beef sandwiches, and Chicago hot dogs were among the foods he looked forward to. Although Terry lived nearly 50 years in California, he always had a place in his heart for Chicago and all his friends and family there.
Preceding his death were his wife Kathryn Pomella, mother Louise Pomella, sisters Louella Gaetano and Dale Traiko. He is survived by his son Phil Pomella, daughter Karla (Robert) Frame, his granddaughter Lauren Frame, his two brothers Keith and Anthony (Ellen) Pomella. He was a beloved Uncle to Lynn (Jeff) Impallaria, Cheryl (Frank) Kalman, Nick Barnes, Paul (Tammy) Marsala, Nicole (Earl) Letiecq, Laura (Mike) Lennox, and Valerie (Brian) Brunac. He was a great uncle and cousin to many.
