It's amazing how time flies.
My memory of Vernon will always be of that nice Motor Officer that was so kind to me and my family many years ago.
His kindness is eternally in my mind and hope that you find peace in the fact that he is still alive in one's hearts.
May he rest in peace.

I met Vernon back in the late 70's when he was a motor officer.
He used to stop by where I worked and would get a cup of coffee but when duty called he would throw out his coffee and take off to take care of business.  He used to help my mom take my children to her car so that she could take them to daycare.  My mom always said "he's such a nice young man!"  I changed jobs and did not see him for a few years until I started working at the Academy.   Throughout the years I have thought about him and how kind he was to me and my family.  Today I came across his passing in the "Thin Blue Line."  My heart dropped thinking that there was one less friend in my life eventhough we haven't communicated for at least 30 years! Heaven truly has another ANGEL and I know that he will be watching over you as you deal with his passing.  May God bless your family and please know that our family will never forget what an Angel he was on Earth!
