Barbara Jacobson, 74, of Chester, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Fayetteville. She was born March 24, 1949 in Charleroi, PA to the late Michael and Helen (Anderson) Evans. She was an adjunct professor at Vincennes University and UAFS. She was a historical researcher and interpreter, and volunteered at The Drennen Scott House in Van Buren. She was also involved with the Reynolds Cancer Support House, Crawford County Friends of Genealogy, Fort Smith Historical Society, South Sebastian County Historical Society, Frontier Researchers, and the Red Hat Society. She was a member of the UDC and DAR; and of the Chester Freewill Baptist Church for 43 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jacobson.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Jacobson of Branson; and a son, Eric Jacobson of Chester; and a brother, Stephen Evans and wife Jacquelyn of Fort Smith.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
