Carole Ruth Gilbert, 68, of Van Buren, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Fort Smith. She was born December 19, 1954 in Fort Smith to the late William and Ruth (McKown) Maynard. She had worked for Planters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Carole Gilbert; and a brother, Gary Maynard.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Gilbert of the home; a brother, William H. Maynard and wife Reba of Van Buren; a sister-in-law, Karen Maynard of Van Buren; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Concord Baptist Church with interment to follow at Dyer Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Brad Maynard, James Maynard, David Maynard, Jamie Smith, Alex Smith, and Adam Breeze.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
