Glen Shearburn III

Glen “Papa” Arthur Shearburn III, 55, of Fort Smith, AR, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 in his home. He was born March 2, 1955 in Omaha, NE. He was a laborer at John Deere – AG Turf and a longtime member of Shibley Baptist Church in Van Buren, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lydia Shearburn and a son James Shearburn.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Shearburn of the home; a daughter, Faith Thacker of Van Buren, AR; six sons, Micheal Shearburn and his wife Elizabeth of Van Buren, AR, Steve Shearburn and his wife Crystal of Van Buren, AR, Jason Henderson of Fort Smith, AR, Nick Shearburn and his wife Heather of Van Buren, AR, Josh Shearburn and his wife Elisabeth of Van Buren, AR and Chad Shearburn and his wife Jessica of Fort Smith, AR; Stepmother, Alberta Shearburn of Van Buren, AR; three sisters, Sheila Love of Van Buren, AR, Nedra Willis of Van Buren, AR, Pam Hickey of Van Buren, AR, three brothers, Wesley Shearburn of Van Buren, AR, Dale Shearburn of Mulberry, AR and Art Shearburn of Springdale, AR and 20 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Shearburn, Nick Shearburn, Steve Shearburn, Josh Shearburn, Chad Shearburn, Jason Henderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wesley Shearburn, Leon Green, Faith Thacker, E.J. Maxwell and Grady Breazzeal.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday March 3, 2011 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren, AR with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

The family will visit with friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday March 2, 2011 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel.
