Ida Ruth Medlock Ellison, 79, of Van Buren, AR, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR. She was born May 5, 1933, in Ozark to Elmer and Effie Medlock Morrell. She was a retired Assistant Director of the East Los Angeles School Lunch Program. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Ellison; and two daughters, Carol Connor and Pamela Alkire.
She is survived by five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, AR with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Alkire, Timothy Connor, Charlie Bowen, Tom Ellison, Ben Gentry and Dale Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
