

Jessie Nickell, 87, of Alma, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Ozark. He was born March 2, 1934 in Morehead, KY to the late Norman and Ara (Lewis) Nickell. He was retired from the Alma School District, and was a member of The Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith. He collected antiques, was a great storyteller, and loved his children, grandchildren, and beloved dog, Bella.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, David, Megan, and Keaton.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Nickell of the home; a daughter, Connie Feeley and husband Ron of Broken Arrow; two sons, David Nickell and wife Diane of Wasilla, AK, and Lanny Nickell and wife Colleen of North Little Rock; a sister, Marlene Molett of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Garen, Carrie, Randi, Aaron, Caylee, Luke, and Molly; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at The Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith with interment to follow at Dyer Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Nickell, Garen Dobbins, Luke Nickell, Brock Chavis, Ron Feeley, and Robert Bull.
The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at The Pentecostal Church, 3700 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR.
