Jewell Virginia Wilson

Jewell Virginia Wilson, 96, of Alma, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at her home. She was born January 3, 1920 in the Turner Community to the late Charlie and Vina Shadowens. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, and at Crawford County Memorial. She was a member of the Graphic New Hope Baptist church, and the Melody Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Wilson; a son, Roger G. Wilson; five sisters, Grace, Viola, Desda, Lacey, and Alice; two brothers, Clee and Elmer; a grandson, Ted Coody; and a granddaughter, Julie Wilson.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ott and husband Cliff of Alma; a son, Carroll Wilson and wife Patricia of Bonita, CA; five grandchildren, Steve Coody, Jeanette Wilson, Charles Wilson, John Wilson, and Adam Wilson; thirteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Pope Cemetery in the Graphic Community, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Coody, Jared Coody, Taylor Ott, Ryan Coody, John Wilson, and Adam Wilson.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
