Jimmy Kirk Wilkinson, 63, of Van Buren, lost his sixteen-month battle with cancer on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home. He was born February 3, 1955 in Mulberry. He was an ordained minister, and an Army veteran. He owned a paint and body shop in Crawford County which allowed him to pursue his hobby of restoring old cars. As a minister, he served as chaplain for the motorcycle club that he rode with. Recently one pleasure he enjoyed was fishing with fellow cancer patients.
He is survived by his wife, Delora of the home; his mother, Pearl Wilkinson of Van Buren; a sister, Julie Doyle and husband Gerry of Van Buren; five sons, James Kirk Wilkinson and wife Jamie of Minneapolis, Woodson of Van Buren, Gerard of Van Buren, Joe Paul and wife Jenny of Hutchinson, KS, and Richard of Hutchinson, KS; a stepson, Shawn from Michigan, and four grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. The family will hold a remembrance and visitation at a later date.
