Born in Sheridan, Arkansas on April 12, 1943, Judy was a devoted wife and mother who recently celebrated 65 beautiful years of marriage with Jerry. Her home was a reflection of her heart—open, generous, and filled with kindness. Judy had a way of making everyone who walked through her door feel like family.
Judy had an incredible work ethic. She worked in the oil and gas field and as a hearing clerk for Social Security for most of her career, bringing dedication and pride to every job while caring for her family with that same energy. Whether she was preparing meals for her family or sharing them with her elderly neighbors, Judy worked tirelessly and without complaint. When her children or grandchildren had a need, she was always the first to volunteer. You could always count on 'Nana'.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Fort Smith and a long-standing member of Tom Bull’s Sunday School Class, where she found friendship, fellowship, and joy for many decades.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Kent Jones; her son, Brian Jones; her daughter, Tena Reese and son-in-law, Deron Reese; and her grandchildren, Brianne Jones (Matt), Cole Reese, and Caleb Reese. She is also survived by her sister, Brenda Berry, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Wetzel, Butch Johnson, Gary Felker, Deron Reese, Cole Reese, and Caleb Reese.
Visitation will begin at 1:00, followed by services at 2:00 on Wednesday, June 18 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Heart of Hospice for their compassion and care during Judy’s final days. A special thank you to Jessica Cole from Home Instead, whose kindness, dedication, and presence became more like family over the past 15 months.
Forever loved, forever missed - Judy will remain in our hearts always.
