Linda Sue McAlister, 71, of Alma, AR, died Monday, September 24, 2012 in her home. She was born April 9, 1941 in Rockwood, TN. She was a clerk at Meadors Inn in Alma, AR, Baptist faith, a coordinator for the Alma Little League Cheerleading program for 42 years, coordinator for the Little Miss Arkansas River Pageant for 20 years, one of the founding members of the Alma Library Board and the Alma Woman’s Community League and 2004 Recipient of the Alma Arts and Education Distinguished Service Award for her work with the children of Alma. She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Davis; mother, Nellie Dale; her father, Lonnie Cisson and a sister, Juanita Carrin.
She is survived by her husband Warren of the home; a daughter, Paula McAlister of Alma, AR; a foster son, Mark Dixon of Van Buren, AR; a sister Adora Tucker of Walker, LA; 5 grandchildren, Leah Roe, Kristopher Davis, Jarrod Medrano, Austin Davis, Hannah Myers and a great grandchild, Lynnex Roe.
Graveside Service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
