Lloyd Clayton Willard, Jr., 91, of Mountainburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 2, 1932 in Welch, West Virginia to the late Lloyd C. Willard, Sr. and Margaret (Moritz) Willard. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany.
As a young man he loved to go fishing, play softball and golf, and after retirement he loved to travel in his RV with his wife and dogs, Toby, Ishtah, and Tasha, sharing countless beautiful sunsets on the coast, and the occasional trip to the casino. Lloyd loved having friends and family over and was a wonderful host that went out of his way to make you feel at home.
He grew up in a loving home with six siblings, Joanne, Connie, Billy Mae, Max, Johnny, and Doug. He had a witty sense of humor, and was a fabulous storyteller and jokester. He was greatly loved by all that knew him, and will live forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert.
He is survived by his beloved wife and partner of the past 30 years, Sook M. Willard; two children, Debra Winters, and William and Pamela Willard; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Willard; and Sook’s children – his stepchildren and their spouses – Johnathan and Lourdes Wilcox, Gary and Debbie Wilcox, and Susan Hall and Walter Sinclair. He loved spending time with his eight grandchildren, Erica, Tim, Sara, Justina, Marjorie, Jennifer, Erin, and Angel; six step-grandchildren, Sueheily, Madison, Tyler, Kimmie, Ravencloud, and Forrest; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
As per Lloyd’s request no services will be held at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
