

Marilyn Jean Baker Haught, 77, of Alma, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born August 1, 1938 in Chicago. She was the former owner/operator of Double R Quick Stop in Alma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Dean Haught; a daughter, Lucinda Rae Haught; and a great-granddaughter, Payslee Rae Carnell.
She is survived by four daughters, M. Janie Runnels and husband Steve of Fayetteville, Julie Rae Wilson and husband Doug of Alma, Jennifer Mertell and husband Scott of Lakeland, TN, and Jill Ann Ware and husband John of Van Buren; a sister, Betsy Baker of Norman, OK; nine grandchildren, Marissa Smith, Mitchell Easley, Christopher Palmer, Erin Rae Wilson, Miriah Smith, Megan Mertell, Hannah Rae Mertell, Emily Carnell, and Cody Ray Ware; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be her son-in-laws, Steve Runnels, Doug Wilson, Scott Mertell, and John “Bubba” Ware.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
