With profound love and gratitude, we announce that Michael Fischer, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and unwavering servant of the Lord, entered his eternal home in Heaven after a 7-year battle with cancer. He faced his illness with the same courage, humility and steadfast faith that defined his entire life.
Born with a heart for people and a calling to serve, Michael dedicated his life to building God's Kingdom here on earth. A Visionary with a gentle spirit, he founded and nurtured multiple ministries that became lifelines for countless individuals and families. Through his leadership, compassion, and tireless work, he brought hope to the hurting, guidance to the seeking, and Christ's love to everyone he met.
His devotion to the Lord was not simply something he practiced- it was the foundation of every decision he made and every life he touched. Whether he was praying with someone in need, teaching God's word, or quietly serving behind the scenes, his mission was always the same: to glorify Jesus and to reflect the love of God.
For seven long years, Michael carried the weight of cancer with extraordinary grace. Though his body weakened, his faith never wavered. He inspired all who knew him by living out the truth that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. Through every treatment, every setback, and every moment of uncertainty, he continued to love, serve, and encourage others- often placing their needs above his own.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Sandy, who walked beside him with devotion and courage; his cherished children Anna, April and Chase and his two grandchildren, six-year-old Kyler and two-year old Alana. His sister Debbie Brown and two brothers Brad and Darren. Stepmother Carolyn Fischer and Great-aunt Louise Harris. His family brought immense pleasure and joy to his heart. His legacy also lives on in the congregations, ministries and countless lives transformed by his obedience to God's calling.
To know Michael was to witness humility, gentleness, humor, and compassion. He believed wholeheartedly in God's promises and lived with an eternal perspective, teaching others-by both word and example-To trust God in all things. His absence leaves an ache in our hearts, but his impact will echo through generations.
Though we mourn the loss of this extraordinary man, we rejoice knowing he is now healed, whole, and worshiping in the presence of the Lord he so deeply loved. His life's mission was lived out in a quote from C.T. Studd “Some wish to live within the sound of a church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell’; it served as both his anchor and his testimony. We know he now hears the words he has so longed for: “well done, good and faithful servant”.
A celebration of his life and ministry will be held at For His Glory Church 1215 S O Street at a later date, where we will honor his legacy of faith, love and service. We remain forever grateful for his life, his leadership, and the love he poured into all of us. May we continue his work by living boldly for Christ and extending the same grace and compassion he offered so freely.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
