

Richard Paul Gentry, 85, of Fort Smith, AR, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born March 29, 1927 in Rudy, AR to J.B. and Bretty Gentry. He retired from Riverside Furniture and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife Betty Carney Gentry of the home; a daughter, Betty Selph Reeves and her husband George of Alma, AR; three step-daughters, Marilyn Peevy and her husband Calvin of Little Rock, AR, Kay Villines and her husband Danny of Rudy, AR and Rhonda Kasler of Annadale, N.J.; a step-son, Lee Carney and his wife Carol of Bryant, AR; a granddaughter, Ramona Nelson; a great-granddaughter, Courtney Nelson; nine step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Smith, AR. with burial at Steward Cemetery in Mountainburg, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Peevy, Danny Villines, Lee Carney, Dwight Christian, Don Real and Dale Franklin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Freeman, Ralph Robins, Ron Wilcox, Arvil Walker, Howard Gentry, Marion Gentry and Junior Steward.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
