Riley Aaron Beneux, 26, of Fort Smith, sadly passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 in Barling. He was born July 6, 1996 in Fort Smith. He attended Alma Schools and graduated from Southside High School in Fort Smith in the Class of 2014. Riley attended the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith on an academic scholarship, and he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Riley was an avid reader, movie enthusiast, and food lover. He had a soft spot for animals and loved being outside, especially where water was involved. From the age of 6 and through high school, Riley was a member of the Fort Smith Tideriders USA swim team, and he carried his passion for swimming through the rest of his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Donna Beneux.
Riley is survived by his parents, Bryan and Nancy (Moore) Beneux of the home; his sisters, Audra and Caroline Beneux of the home; his grandparents, David Beneux of Mulberry, and Milton and Donna Teeter of Russellville. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his beloved dog.
Graveside memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
