Shelly Grant Pigg, 72, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He was born January 8, 1942 in Alma to the late Walker and Mamie Williams Pigg. He was a retired driver for Arkhola Sand & Gravel after 30 years; and a Teamster leader. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Cissy” Pigg; and a grandson, Beau Rapier.
He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Flagg of Mulberry, Sherri Thomas of Mountainburg, and Carolyn Wollard of Spring Grove, IL; a son, Mike Hatwig of Alma; two sisters, Elsie Mitchell of Fort Smith, and Mary Brown of Van Buren; seven grandchildren, Codey Flagg, Katie, Jennifer, Natalie, and Mallory Wollard, Emilee and Harrison Hatwig; and two great-grandchildren, Haylee Jo Thomas, and Natalie Thomas.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Honorary pallbearers will be Codey Flagg, Gerald Thomas, William Flagg, and Mike Hatwig.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
