

Suda Mae Floyd Brock, 88, of Alma, departed this earth on Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Alma, Arkansas. Prior to living in Alma, Suda Mae was a resident of Sugarloaf Lake near Hackett. She was a member of the Amity Baptist Church in Hackett.
For many years Suda Mae, and her first husband Junior, owned and operated Junior's Cafe and Station at Sugarloaf Lake. She was known for cooking the best tacos and steaks in the area! After retiring from the restaurant business, Suda Mae moved to Greenwood where she worked at Pink Bud Nursing Home for several years.
Suda Mae leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Jean Metcalf (Richard) of Menifee, California, Pat Whorton (Louis) of Alma, one step-daughter, Katherine Moore of Roland, Oklahoma; two brothers, Kenneth Jackson (Audrey) of Clovis, California and John Jackson (Anne) of Watsonville, California; one sister-in-law, Eloise Jackson of Sanger, California; one daughter-in-law, Mary Floyd of Caruthers, California; her sister and brother in Christ, Nancy and Wilburn Carter of Hackett; 6 grandchildren, Tami, Teresa, Shelley, Cassie, Cynthia and Jeremy; 18 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren, and all present and former UAFS Lady Lion Basketball players whom she grew to love more and more each basketball season.
Suda Mae was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Junior Floyd, and her second husband of 17 years, Dan Brock. She was also preceded in death by her parents Lola (Decker) & Vester Jackson; one son, Larry Floyd; one brother, Marvin Jackson; two grandsons, Randy and Rodney Floyd; one son-in law, James Metcalf, and one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Floyd.
Funeral services for Suda Mae will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Amity Baptist Church, Hwy 45 South, Hackett, Arkansas with interment at Gilliam Cemetery in Witcherville, Arkansas under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home on Hwy 64 East in Van Buren on Tuesday evening between 6-8 pm.
Pallbearers will be Wilburn, Ace, Cleve and Melton Carter, Jerry Richards and Ray Pittman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amity Baptist Church Building Fund, Hwy 45 South, Arkansas 72937, or a charity of your choice.
