Velma Lee Ming

Velma Ming, 84, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015. She was born January 16, 1930 in Hunt, AR to the late Dan and Anna Crooks Parker. She was a homemaker, and a member of Butterfield Assembly but was currently attending Mount Olive United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard M. Ming.

She is survived by four daughters, Karen Myers, and Laurna Brown both of Van Buren, Gina Loyd of Conway, and Becky Weitlich of Shawnee, KS; four sons, Dale Ming, Lenny Ming and Mike Ming all of Van Buren, and Gary Ming of Rudy; three sisters, Thelma Williams and Lorene Nichols of Ozark, and Joyce Rofkahr of Altus; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Loyd, Matt Weitlich, Jeremy Newton, Johnathan Ming, Anthony Ming, and Nathan Myers. Honorary pallbearers are her sons; and a grandson, Christopher Ming.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
