William “Bill” Wheeler, 80, of Van Buren, AR, died Thursday March 24, 2011 at a Fort Smith hospital. He was born October 30, 1930 in Elmira, New York. He was a retired truck driver, served in the Navy, fought in the Korean Conflict, was a member of American Legion and a member of Saint Michaels Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Deloras Wheeler and his second wife, Evelyn Wheeler and a daughter, Beverly Austin.
He is survived by two daughters, Catherine Grim of Dover, PA and Suzanne Wonder of Dover, PA; five step-daughters, Margie Taglialatela, Nancy Myers, Suzanne Hayes, Becky Bell and Amy Knight; four step-sons, Bob Campbell II, Barney Campbell, Joe Campbell and Daniel Tran; a sister, Jeannie Breese of Elmira, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Forestlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY under the direction of Barretts Funeral Home in Elmira, NY
The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Sunday March 27, 2011 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren, AR.
