John wasborn the fifth of six children to Williamand AugustaStolp inMinneapolis, Minnesota.
Alwaysan adventuresome lad, he headed west to join theU.S. Navyin1937.Afteran
Honorable Discharge inOctober 1945, he married his high schoolsweetheart,Elaineand
joined the Los Angeles Police Department. A career withthe policedepartmentwas a
perfectfit, retiring after 28 years.
Helovedtohunt fish and travel, whilehis golf gamegave himall theadventure hecould
handle. Johnis survived by histwo children, Judy and husband Gary,and John and his wife
Gail; and three grandchildren, Davina andhusband Tal, Jake and Cressida. Heis preceded
indeath by his wifeElaine;and his grandson PeterC.Stolp. His patience, wisdomand humor
will be forever sorely missed byALL.
A Memorial service will be held atSt. GenevieveParish inPanorama City on SaturdayJune
16th at9:30 a.m.
