

1921 to 2013
Willadean Moore Lancaster, age 92, a long time resident of Newhall, CA, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born January 22, 1921 in a small farmhouse in Dry Branch, Tennessee. The first of three children to Elbert Dewie Watson and Rosa Bell Painter Watson
In 1936 Willadean married Omas Taft Moore and a few years later moved to California, where Taft worked at the Newhall Land and Farm Orange Orchard. In the early 1950’s, Willadean went to work as a kitchen helper at Saugus Café. In 1955, she started work at Thatcher Glass, where she worked until she retired in 1979. In 1954 they bought their first house on De Wolfe Road. The same house she lived in at the time of her death.
After the death of her first husband, Willadean married Hobert Lancaster in 1979 and moved to his farm in Tennessee. She had 17 happy and wonderful years with Hobert and had the opportunity to travel all over the United States during that time. After Hobert died in 1996, Willadean came back to California to live out her remaining years on De Wolfe Road surrounded by her large family, wonderful neighbors and friends that visited her often.
Willadean is preceded in death by husbands Taft and Hobert; sons Edward and Alvin; grandsons Johnny and Justin; son-in-law Paul and daughter-in-law Darlene. She is survived by her 4 remaining children, Rondal (Vonda) of Sylmar, Rex (Jennie) of Long Beach, Susan McGrane and Brenda Trunzo of Santa Clarita, her two brothers Alvin (Jack) Watson of Ohio and Henry Ray Watson of Kentucky along with dozens of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 10:00am at Village Church, 24802 Alderbrook Dr., Newhall, CA 91321 (661-259-5845) with visitation on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the same location. Interment will be at Eternal Valley on Sierra Highway.
