Born in Northern Alberta on May 15, 1960 to mother, Marie Adelaide Auger.
Alfie was raised in the home of Kate Brieter from the summer of 1960 until adulthood. He joined the household of six foster siblings where he was welcomed with open arms.
He spent his early school years in Delta until the fall of 1974 when he joined the Vancouver College, a Catholic School for boys where he graduated in 1978. There Alfie enjoyed living on site and being the Manager of the 1974 Varsity Basketball team. He spent summers at Camp Latona on Gambier Island and at home in Surrey with his family.
As a young adult Alfie lived in Williams Lake but settled back in Surrey for the remainder of his life. He enjoyed working with his hands and was employed in the construction industry for many years. Later his passion for cars and machinery lead him to own and operate an auto parts store for a short time.
Alfie is survived by his brothers Gerry and Paul; sisters, Inge, Gabe, Rose and Trish, his nephews and his many friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his Chihuahua, Gotti.

The Gypsy
Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep—
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry—
I am not there,
I did not die.
