It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Allan Williams. He was born to his late parents Pearl Rose Williams and Allan McDonald on December 27, 1952. Like many of our elders he was a residential school survivor having attended St. Paul’s Indian Residential Day School until Grade 8. He grew up in the family home that was located behind his current home on Eslha7an (Mission IR no. 1). Being from the first Indian Reserve was something Barry was very proud of. He took pride in being Squamish Nation. Barry worked at the Mosquito Creek Marina, Gas Barge, and Steve Landscaping. Growing up he was a big help taking care of his siblings and cousins. He was a family man at heart.
He was married to his wife Elaine for 46 beautiful years. They raised their children on Eslha7an (Mission IR no. 1). Barry loved spending time with his family and was the ultimate dad. He was such a good grandpa to his grandchildren. Barry played lacrosse, and loved to watch the Canucks play. He never looked down on anybody and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a happy man with a great sense of humour. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being an artist. He loved getting lost in the sky, admiring all the gorgeous colours. Barry was a great cook, he loved to teach his family and he was great at making frybread! He loved oldies music especially White Feather and the band his son was in, Bitterly Divine. Barry will best be remembered for being humble, loving, funny, and kind.
He is survived by his loving wife Elaine Williams; children Wilson Williams(Kaiya), Rosemarie Williams(Eric), Quinton Williams, Adam Williams, Charlene Paull; grandchildren Wilaiya Williams, Treleen Williams, Pearl Margaret Williams, Mason Lewis, Ula Williams, Antonio Williams, Hanson Williams, Brandon Williams, Caroline Paull, Lincoln Paull, Alana Paull, Laurie Williams Paull, Courtney Williams, Jerome Williams, Shaelynn Williams; great grandchildren Hazel Paull, Emery Paull, Jake Paull, Rosalie Williams Paull; siblings Nicholas Williams, Rosalind Williams, Gloria Moody(Bob), Maureen Matilpi, and many special children, nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
