Brian Gerald Dionne

DIONNE, Brian Gerald – 1945-2014. Our loving brother and friend, Brian, passed away of a sudden illness at Vancouver General Hospital on November 28, 2014. Brian was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. Brian is predeceased by his partner Bud Henderson, parents Joseph and Myrtle and brother Joseph. He is survived by his six sisters, four brothers and a large extended family. Brian was a longtime member of the Canadian Professional Floral Designers Association (CPFDA), where he served as past president and current treasurer. Brian began his florist career in Vancouver, joining Fairmont Flowers, where he met his loving partner Bud Henderson. He left the retail part of the industry and joined David L. Jones as the In House Designer retiring in 2004. Brian’s passion for the industry motivated him to continue as a Freelance Designer, always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow colleagues. Brian will be fondly remembered for his infectious laugh and heartwarming personality. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends across Canada. A heartfelt thank you to Judy and Chester who brought much love and joy to Brian’s everyday life.

A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC on Thursday, December 4, 2014 with service starting at 6:00 pm, and a reception to follow.

Because of Brian’s love of flowers, colorful flowers would be greatly appreciated or a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC.
