Charlie was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, he is survived by his brother Bill, many nieces and nephews, very close and dear friends Marc Ducommun and Alex Bromfield and many, many close friends. Charlie was born on a homestead northwest of Lacombe, Alberta. He attended a one room rural school, finishing his grade nine, and then attended Red Deer High School. After completing his high school he attended theological college where he received his Bachelor of Theology degree. The funeral profession was always appealing, so Charlie applied for a position at Brennen Funeral home in Stettler, Alberta, he finished his apprenticeship and received his Alberta license. Charlie continued to work in Stettler for 18 years, then he accepted a management position at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel in Vancouver, BC where worked until his retirement. When in Alberta, Charlie was an avid 5 pin-pin bowler, being placed on the Western Canada Championship team twice. Hockey was also a favorite sport of Charlie’s. Charlie attended the Dale Carnegie Course for speaking, was always in youth work in central Alberta. The Church has always played an important role in Charlie’s activities, being a choir member, ushering and a member of the Church board. There are no regrets in serving in the funeral profession, he always considered it as a ministry to people at a very difficult time.
