Christine Leanne Whonnock

Christine Leanne Whonnock was born on September 26, 1995, in North Vancouver, BC to Rachael & Sonny. She was the first grandchild of Kathy and Tom. She was raised in Vancouver and loved her family so much. Christine was so excited to become a big sister, she had so much love for Nathaniel, Dakota, and Isaiah.

Christine and her siblings spent a lot of time growing up with mom Rachael and grandma Kathy in and around Vancouver, going to parks, swimming and playing with each other.

Some of Christine’s favourite activities were swimming, bowling and petting them and feeding horses. She enjoyed getting manicures and pedicures and at times, loved to be adventurous with hair colour – blue and red, which combined to make her favourite colour, purple.

Christine had warmth in her visits with family. She loved grandma’s cooking and always made sure to hug her family members when they would part each other and tell them how much she loved them.

In the last year, Christine became an irreplaceable part of the lives of Michael (Papa), Lydia (Mama) and their entire family. Christine brought warmth and light to their home. She had a unique way of connecting with everyone, and her presence reminded them daily of the importance of love and care. Christine’s love for special home-cooked meals made every dish prepared by Mama an act of joy and devotion.

Mornings were a sacred routine shared with Papa, who lovingly prepared her breakfast and helped set the tone for her day. Wednesdays and Saturdays were Christine’s favorite days, she looked forward to swimming, bowling, or walking with Doris, Prisca, and sometimes Kofi and Papa to go buy scratches. Her laughter and enthusiasm during these activities reminded them all of the simple joys in life.

Christine taught us the value of compassion and the beauty of shared experiences. While her time with us was brief, the impact she had on our lives is profound and everlasting. We will miss you always. Your memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
