It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Dyer, who left us peacefully at the age of 81. David was a beloved uncle to James, Cynthia and Charles, and great-uncle to Georgina and Isabelle. He is survived by his devoted sister, Penny, nieces and nephews and all of us who were lucky enough to know and love him.
David dedicated decades of his life to the Postal Service, where he was known for his unwavering reliability and quiet strength. A lifelong lover of history, he found joy in the beauty and performances of the Orpheum Theatre, where he was a frequent and enthusiastic patron.
In his free time, David enjoyed long walks, crossword puzzles, reading, and following sports. He was a passionate fan of the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Toronto Raptors—teams he cheered for through every season, win or lose.
David’s fun-loving spirit found a home in the warm camaraderie of his favorite local spots—Elephant and Castle, Original Joe’s, and the Bayside Lounge. He cherished deeply the friendships he made there and became a cherished figure in those communities in return.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, and his ability to bring joy and laughter into every room. David’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in.
