Dennis Austin Lewis

Sunrise: July 6, 1958 – Sunset: January 23, 2016

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Late Dennis Austin Lewis. Dennis was born to his parents Jacob ‘Jake’ and Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (nee Billy) Lewis on July 6, 1958. Following a courageous battle with cancer Dennis passed away peacefully at his home on Cheekeye IR No. 11 in Squamish Valley at around 8:10 am on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Dennis descends from the Lewis/Elliot and Billy/Charlie Families. Dennis was a traditional man and passionate about our fish habitats; he spent the majority of his free time fishing and hunting and by trade was a fisheries technician who worked with the estuary collecting data, counting, tagging, reporting concerns as well as restoration of the spawning channel at Cheekeye.

Dennis is survived and will be dearly missed by his special friend Heather Newman; siblings Gail Stella Lewis, Jacob Bill Lewis, Carol Lorraine Joseph, Paul Henry Lewis (Judy), Marie Andrea Lewis, Michael Anthony Lewis, Mavis Rose Newman, Shirley Bonita Lewis (Luc); children Nichol Elizabeth Maxwell (Lewis), Henry Glenn John Baker (Lewis), Loretta Ann Baker and William Ray Baker; and many loving relatives and dear friends. A prayer service will be held on January 26 at 7:00 pm and a funeral service on January 27, 2016 at 10:00 am both at Totem Hall, 1380 Stawamus Rd, Squamish, BC on January 26, 2016 (Tuesday).
