Dick was born on September 9, 1935 in Toysan, China. He married Chuisha Kwong in Hong Kong and they immigrated to Ottawa, Canada in 1959.
He is survived by his children Digby, Anne (John), Doris, Joanne and Brenda; grandchildren Christopher and Amy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chuisha and his son, Grant.
Dick worked in restaurants until he and family members were able to purchase the Golden Palace Restaurant in 1960. They had a successful business for over 50+ years.
Dick loved to fish, travel, and spend time with family and friends. He was also quite the foodie and enjoyed eating. Whether it was playing cards, golfing or visiting the casino, he enjoyed life.
Dick was extremely generous and friendly. He had a knack for making friends and putting people at ease.
He was a husband, father and friend.
He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to charity. There will be no formal memorial service.
