It is with very heavy hearts we share the sudden passing of Diego Carpino.
Diego passed away within Vancouver General Hospital’s ICU on January 13, 2026, at the age of 32.
He is survived by his fiancé Danielle “Dani” Turnquist; parents Frank (Bobbi) Carpino and Selena Carpino Nygaard; siblings Bobby Pearden, Sofia Carpino, Kaiden Nygaard; grandparents Tony and Flora Carpino, Lloyd (Denise) Ladoucier and Susan Oddy; uncles, aunts, cousins, colleagues and friends; and fur babies Eris, Gypsy, Atlas, and Nero.
Diego lived life to the fullest through his love of nature, travel, paleontology, seeing his favorite bands live, Lego (so much Lego), all things Marvel, gaming, and long walks at Cottonwood Island Park to hand feed the birds any chance he got.
He was a hugger, and those who were privileged to receive one of his hugs know they were the BEST! He is dearly missed.
Donations can be made in Diego’s memory to the Northern BC Friends of Children Society, a charity that originated in Prince George following Diego’s complicated health issues at birth. To date over 1,200 families have been assisted with their children’s medical expenses.
