Fu Cheng was born on November 3, 1937, in Enping, Guangdong, China. He was a deeply loving and selfless father who devoted every aspect of his life to his family. In 1981, Fu Cheng arrived in Canada with the hope of building a better future for his young children. He worked tirelessly, sometimes holding down three jobs at once, with the goal of saving enough to buy a home and give his children better opportunities to be successful. He always prioritized their well-being and happiness over his own, never asking for anything in return nor seeking recognition for the countless sacrifices he made.
Fu Cheng was predeceased by his loving sisters, Yim Hung Jang and Sau Hung Kwong. He is deeply missed by his wife, Giong Ghu; lovingly remembered by his four children: Brenda (Kelly), Su (Edwin), Ben (Alice) and Elaina (Brian); deeply cherished by his twelve grandchildren: Emily, Patrick, Sydney, Amy, Joshua, Sally, Matthew, Rachel, Justin, Harrison, Sarah, and Natalie; and fondly remembered by his younger brother, Fu Wing Zheng.
Our beloved father lived a full and blessed life. When he could no longer care for himself, he slipped away quietly in the same way he lived – never wanting to burden those he loved. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for his unwavering love. We wish we had told him more often how much we loved him and what he meant to us. We profoundly miss him.
